Marshall Mathers Biography

Marshall was born on October 17th, 1972. He was born in Kansas City, Missori. His mother had him at 15 years old. His father left 6 months later never to return. Through his childhood he switched schools every 2-3 months. This made it difficult to even make friends, gradute, and to stay out of trouble. Marshall attended Lincoln High School in Warren from 1986-89. He has been a rap fan for most of his life. He began rapping at the early age of 4 years old. At the age of 14 he began to get very serious about his rapping, but it wasn't until he was 17 that he actually made a name for himself, becoming M&M and later respelling it Eminem. The nickname M & M came from his initialls M(arshall) M(athers). He was rejected by most common rappers because of his race. This caused his anger to grow that flows through his music still today. Marshall failed the 9th grade three times. He dropped out of school but does not consider himself stupid, but he doesn't think people should follow his example. He remarks that school just wasn't for him. He threw himself into radio shows and freestyle battles most of the time failing. But he pushed himself foward and finally made his first album titled "Infinite" and it sold less than a thousand copies. When Dr. Dre heard his first album he tracked down Marshall and the two of them instantly hit it off. They recorded 4 songs in the first 6 hours of working together.
